Three Spinners Key To CSK’s Success”, Says Kedar Jadhav Ahead Of CSK vs MI

March 23, 2025: Ahead of the much-anticipated IPL 2025 clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI), former India cricketer Kedar Jadhav spoke highly of the three experienced spinners that MI boasts: Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, and Noor Ahmad. These three spin maestros are expected to play a crucial role in the high-stakes encounter, set to take place at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

Jadhav, a JioStar Marathi Expert, acknowledged the impact these spinners could have on the game, depending on how the pitch conditions unfold. “It is important to see how the pitch is being prepared for the three spinners,” he said, emphasizing the significant role the pitch would play in the match. “If the pitch is dry, the spinners will come into the game. I don’t think they will have an upper hand in the first half. In the second half, when the pitch is dry due to overheating, I think the three spinners will be a match-winning combination for CSK,” he added.

Ravichandran Ashwin, who rejoined CSK for a hefty sum of Rs 9.75 crore, brings a wealth of experience to the table. With 764 wickets in 286 matches across all formats for India, including 72 wickets in 65 T20Is, Ashwin has proved himself as one of the best spinners in the world. In addition, he has played a crucial role in CSK’s past successes, having contributed both with the ball and bat in IPL history.

Ravindra Jadeja, the seasoned all-rounder, is another key figure for CSK. With 140 wickets to his name in the IPL, Jadeja is just eight wickets away from becoming the franchise’s all-time leading wicket-taker. He is also poised to become CSK’s second-most-capped player, assuming he makes five appearances in the current season.

Afghanistan’s Noor Ahmad, who was signed for Rs 10 crore after a bidding war with MI, adds further depth to CSK’s spin arsenal. The 19-year-old has shown great promise in his limited international appearances, taking 16 wickets in 24 matches across 10 ODIs and 14 T20Is. In his IPL career with Gujarat Titans, he picked up 24 wickets in 23 matches, proving his credentials as a reliable spinner.

With such a strong spin department, CSK will look to exploit the conditions at MA Chidambaram Stadium, especially in the second half of the match when the pitch is expected to turn more favorable for spinners. Fans can look forward to a thrilling contest between two of the most successful teams in IPL history.
