Vinod Kambli Opens Up About Health Scare: Deets Inside

December 13, 2024: Former India cricketer Vinod Kambli has broken his silence on his recent health struggles, revealing the tough times he’s been through. The 52-year-old, who has been in the spotlight due to his condition, shared details of his battle with a severe urine infection, which led to a sudden health scare a month ago.

Kambli, who was recently seen struggling at a public event in Mumbai honouring his former coach, the late Ramakant Achrekar, spoke openly about his health issues in an interview with Vickey Lalwani on his YouTube channel. The cricket legend revealed that he collapsed after experiencing intense dizziness, and it was only through the support of his family that he began to recover.

“My head started spinning, I collapsed, and I fell down. It was a serious situation,” Kambli said. He further explained that his wife took him to three different hospitals, urging him to get the necessary treatment. “My wife and kids stood by me through everything. My son, Jesus Cristiano, helped me get back on my feet,” he added. His wife, daughter, and son all played an instrumental role in his recovery, offering constant support during this difficult time.

Kambli’s health scare was compounded by a persistent urine infection that caused complications. The former cricketer expressed his gratitude to former India all-rounder Ajay Jadeja, who also visited him during his recovery.

Despite the tough period, Kambli remains in good spirits and has been able to reflect on his cricketing achievements. He fondly recalled his memorable knock of 224 runs against England at Wankhede Stadium, sharing his appreciation for the great team he was part of, including legends like Anil Kumble and Rajesh Chauhan.

This revelation sheds light on the personal challenges Kambli has been facing while also highlighting the strength of his family and friends in helping him navigate through this tough phase.
