Virender Sehwag, the iconic former Indian cricketer known for his explosive batting, has found himself in the spotlight, not for cricket, but for personal reasons. A recent report has sparked rumours about a possible separation between Sehwag and his wife, Aarti. Married in December 2004, the couple has two sons—Aaryavir, born in 2007, and Vedant, born in 2010.
The report, published in Hindustan Times, claims that the couple has been living separately for months and hints at the possibility of an impending divorce. Neither Sehwag nor Aarti has publicly commented on these claims. Social media users, however, were quick to notice the lack of recent photos of the couple together on Sehwag’s Instagram, which still features older pictures of them. Adding to the speculation, Sehwag does not follow Aarti on Instagram, and her profile is set to private.

Despite the rumours, Sehwag has continued to share moments of pride about his sons, particularly Aaryavir’s budding cricket career. In November 2024, Sehwag praised Aaryavir’s near-triple century knock of 297 runs for Delhi against Meghalaya in the Cooch Behar Trophy. In a humorous post on X (formerly Twitter), Sehwag referenced an old promise he made in 2015 during an interview with Harsha Bhogle: gifting his sons a Ferrari if they surpass his highest Test score of 319.

“Well played, Aaryavir. Missed a Ferrari by 23 runs. But well done, keep the fire alive, and may you score many more daddy hundreds, doubles, and triples,” Sehwag wrote.
As a cricketer, Sehwag remains an indelible part of Indian cricket history, celebrated for his audacious batting style and two career triple centuries in Test cricket. While his professional life is etched in glory, the ongoing speculation about his personal life has left fans and media alike awaiting clarity.
