Watch 14-Year-Old Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s Mark of Respect Towards His Idol MS Dhoni

In a symbolic clash of generations, young Vaibhav Suryavanshi led Rajasthan Royals to victory over CSK and paid ultimate respect to MS Dhoni after the match.

New Delhi, May 21, 2025 – In a heartwarming moment that transcended age and cricketing rivalry, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi paid the ultimate tribute to MS Dhoni following Rajasthan Royals’ convincing six-wicket win over Chennai Super Kings in the IPL 2025 clash at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Dubbed the “Battle of Generations,” the match saw the youngest-ever IPL player, Suryavanshi, go head-to-head with 43-year-old Dhoni, the tournament’s oldest participant. But the story didn’t end with just runs and wickets—it was the post-match gesture that captured the spirit of cricket.

As players exchanged handshakes, Suryavanshi bowed down and touched Dhoni’s feet, seeking blessings from the legendary former India captain. The act struck an emotional chord across fans and cricketing circles, symbolizing respect, humility, and the passing of the torch.

Suryavanshi Shines with the Bat

Suryavanshi top-scored with a dazzling 57 off 33 balls, smashing four boundaries and four sixes, helping RR chase down 188 with 17 balls to spare. His aggressive yet composed knock saw him dominate seasoned bowlers like Noor Ahmad, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin.

The teen prodigy formed a solid partnership with Sanju Samson, guiding RR to a powerplay score of 56/1, and later clearing boundaries with confidence against both spin and pace.

Though both Samson and Suryavanshi fell in the same over to Ashwin, Dhruv Jurel and Shimron Hetmyer kept the momentum alive, finishing the chase in style—with Jurel hitting the winning six off Matheesha Pathirana.

A Sour Note for CSK

The loss leaves CSK at risk of finishing last in IPL 2025 unless they can pull off a big win against table-toppers Gujarat Titans in their final match. Despite valiant efforts from their batting unit, Akash Madhwal and Yudhvir Singh Charak wrecked CSK’s top order with three wickets each.
