May 22, 2025: Young India star Yashasvi Jaiswal ended his IPL 2025 campaign on a high, emerging as Rajasthan Royals‘ top run-scorer with 559 runs from 14 matches, including six half-centuries. His final outing of the season saw him score a brisk 36 off 19 balls in a successful chase against Chennai Super Kings at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

However, Jaiswal’s emotional Instagram post following the end of Rajasthan Royals’ campaign has stirred speculation among fans. “Thank you, Rajasthan Royals, for everything. Not the season we hoped for, but continue to be grateful for our journey together. On to the next challenge and whatever the future brings, YBJ 64,” he wrote — prompting questions over whether he might be parting ways with the franchise.
Jaiswal, who has been a core part of RR since 2020, was retained for ₹18 crore ahead of the 2025 mega auctions, and has been consistently impactful. He now has 2,166 runs from 67 matches, making him the third player after Ajinkya Rahane and Jos Buttler to score 500+ runs in multiple IPL seasons for RR.

The left-hander has tallied two centuries and 15 fifties in his IPL career so far, and his explosive top-order presence has been crucial for Sanju Samson’s side.

Next up, Jaiswal will join India A for a two-match red-ball series against the England Lions, starting May 30. The 22-year-old is also widely expected to be named in India’s squad for the upcoming Test series in England, where he’ll look to replicate his phenomenal form from the previous home series — which saw him smash 712 runs in five Tests, including two double hundreds.
While his post might simply reflect end-of-season emotions, fans and analysts will closely watch whether Jaiswal continues with Rajasthan Royals or takes on a new IPL challenge in 2026.
