Dale Steyn Predicts Big Impact from Mohammed Siraj in Series Deciding Match at The Oval

Legendary pacer Dale Steyn predicts a five-wicket haul for Mohammed Siraj in the final Test. Siraj will likely spearhead India’s bowling attack as Jasprit Bumrah is expected to be rested.

July 31, 2025: Dale Steyn, a well-known South African fast bowler, has made a bold guess about the fifth and last Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He thinks that India’s Mohammed Siraj will take five wickets against England at The Oval, which will transform the direction of the match. Steyn’s prediction comes at a time when India’s top fast bowler, Jasprit Bumrah, would probably miss the critical match because he is limiting his workload.

On his official X account (formerly Twitter), Steyn said, “Siraj to take a fifer in the 5th Test.” Steyn’s words demonstrate how much he trusts Siraj to lead the Indian pace attack while Bumrah is out.

Siraj has been with India the whole time on this trip, playing in all four Tests. He has shown flashes of his brilliance, especially during the tough draw at Old Trafford, where people applauded him for his energy, hard work, and ability to get things done.

Reports claim that Jasprit Bumrah, who looked exhausted and slowed down substantially during the fourth Test, would be given a break to prevent getting hurt before the next tournaments. Bumrah had previously decided to participate in only three of the five Tests in England. The BCCI medical staff has ordered him to rest his back now that he has bowled his share.

Siraj, who has played the most Test matches for India in the 2020s, will have to step up now that Bumrah is out. He is the finest person to lead the bowling team at The Oval because he is incredibly fit and has a lot of expertise. Siraj’s performance without Bumrah is statistically better; in 15 Tests without Bumrah, his bowling average climbs up a lot to 25.20, which is far higher than his lifetime average of over 30.

Akash Deep is expected to be back in India’s bowling lineup for the critical final. He was hurt and couldn’t play in the fourth Test, but others say he is better now. Arshdeep Singh, a left-arm pacer, might make his Test debut, which would offer the attack more alternatives.

The fifth Test is a high-pressure game since England is ahead in the series 2-1 and India has to win to draw it up. Because The Oval can favor fast bowlers, it’s really vital to bowl well. India would be hoping that Dale Steyn’s positive prediction for Mohammed Siraj comes true, which may lead to a dramatic series comeback.
