A Run-Filled Spectacle at Arun Jaitley Stadium Sees Shivam Gupta and Himmat Singh Shine for Tigers, While Anshuman Hooda’s Five-Wicket Haul Steals the Bowling Spotlight in DPL 2025.

New Delhi, India – August 4, 2025 (Sunday): What a treat for cricket fans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium today! The Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2025 continued to deliver pure entertainment with a thrilling clash between the Outer Delhi Warriors and the New Delhi Tigers. It was a true run-filled spectacle, packed with explosive batting, nail-biting moments, and momentum swings that kept everyone on the edge of their seats right until the very end!

Tigers’ Batting Blitz: Shivam & Himmat Unleash a Storm!

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the New Delhi Tigers had a little hiccup early on when opener Dhruv Kaushik departed for just 5 runs. But fear not, Tigers fans! What followed was a magnificent display of resilience and power hitting. Shivam Gupta and skipper Himmat Singh truly rose to the occasion, stitching together an absolutely brilliant 164-run partnership for the second wicket – a stand that laid the foundation for a massive total!

Shivam Gupta was simply dazzling, smashing a fluent 89 runs off just 53 balls, a knock adorned with 8 glorious fours and 4 towering sixes. He played with a confidence that radiated across the stadium! Meanwhile, skipper Himmat Singh played the perfect anchor, supporting Shivam with a composed yet impactful 69 runs off 39 deliveries.

While the Tigers did lose a few quick wickets in the middle overs, a fiery late cameo by Keshav Dalal (19 off 9 balls) gave the innings that crucial final push, propelling them to a formidable total of 222/7 in their allotted 20 overs. It was a score that definitely put the pressure on the Warriors!

Hooda’s Heroics: A Five-Wicket Haul Against the Flow!

Despite the Tigers’ incredible batting performance, the real bowling highlight of the innings came from the Outer Delhi Warriors’ Anshuman Hooda. He absolutely turned heads with a superb five-wicket haul, a remarkable feat that showed his skill and determination even as runs flowed freely around him. Talk about a standout performance under pressure!

Warriors’ Valiant Chase: Flashes of Brilliance Fall Short

Chasing a daunting target of 223, the Outer Delhi Warriors started off with a bang! Openers Priyansh Arya (26 off 15) and Sanat Sangwan (48 off 42) launched into a blistering assault, adding a rapid 69 runs in just 5.4 overs. For a moment, it felt like this chase was on!

However, the momentum shifted dramatically as a flurry of wickets in the middle overs pegged the Warriors back significantly. Shreshth Yadav (37 off 33)* tried his absolute best to steady the innings and keep the chase alive, finding some spirited resistance from Dhruv Singh (a quickfire 38 off just 16 balls)*. But despite their valiant efforts and flashes of individual brilliance, the mounting required rate proved to be just too tall an order.

In the end, the New Delhi Tigers held their nerves, showing immense composure to clinch a well-deserved victory by 40 runs. It was another incredibly entertaining fixture in the second edition of the Delhi Premier League 2025, proving once again why this tournament is quickly becoming a fan favorite!
