England Win Toss, Opt To Field In 4th T20I
January 31, 2025: England captain Jos Buttler won the toss and opted to bowl first in the 4th T20I against India in Pune on Friday. With the series currently at 2-1 in favor of India, England aims to level the series after their 26-run victory in Rajkot. A win for India in this match would secure the series, while a win for England would keep them alive in the contest.
India made several changes to their playing XI for the match. Shivam Dube replaced Washington Sundar, Arshdeep Singh came in for Mohammed Shami, and Rinku Singh was brought in for Dhruv Jurel. On the other hand, England also made two changes, with Saqib Mahmood replacing Mark Wood and Jacob Bethell coming in for Jamie Smith.
Speaking at the toss, England’s Jos Buttler said, “We are gonna bowl first this evening. It feels like a great atmosphere already, the series is nicely set up. Very happy with that performance, we have areas to improve, but happy to get the win. A little bit unsure to be honest with the dew, if it will come in or not.”
India captain Suryakumar Yadav emphasized focusing on sticking to the basics. “It is all about coming here and playing a good brand of cricket. Hopefully, we put up an entertaining show for this crowd,” he said.
