This achievement came during a solid knock of 23 runs from 21 balls, including four boundaries, helping his team get off to a good start after a series of lower scores.
In his 69-match career, Salt has accumulated 2,004 runs at an average of 33.96, with a striking rate of 136.97. His career includes four centuries and nine fifties, with a top score of 122 in 64 innings. Since debuting in 2021, Salt has been a key figure for England in both white-ball formats, excelling particularly in T20Is.
Salt has been especially impressive in T20 internationals, amassing 1,138 runs in 42 matches at a striking rate of 161.87. He has also scored three centuries and four fifties in the format, with a best score of 119. His T20I numbers position him as one of the leading players in the format.
England’s all-time top scorer in international cricket remains Joe Root, with 20,387 runs in 355 matches. Alastair Cook and Kevin Pietersen follow with 15,737 and 13,779 runs, respectively. Salt’s achievement highlights his growing stature in the international game, particularly in the T20 format.
