After India’s emphatic win over arch-rivals Pakistan, head coach Gautam Gambhir’s one-word Instagram story went viral, perfectly capturing the team’s aggressive and unflinching attitude. The post, which carried the word “Fearless,” was a tribute to the Indian openers who dominated the Pakistan bowling attack.

September 22, 2025: The Indian cricket team beat their biggest rivals, Pakistan, by six wickets in a high-stakes Super Fours match at the Asia Cup on Sunday. This showed their clinical authority.

After the win, head coach Gautam Gambhir praised his team’s play with one strong word: “Fearless.” He went on Instagram and posted a slew of pictures of his teammates, each with the same word as a caption. The word has now become very popular.

India’s win was based on a record-breaking opening partnership that helped them reach a tough goal of 172. In just 9.5 overs, Abhishek Sharma (74) and Shubman Gill (47) put together a scorching 105-run stand that broke apart Pakistan’s bowling assault. This was India’s highest-ever opening partnership against Pakistan in T20Is. Abhishek Sharma said in a post-match interview that the two were acting aggressively because of tensions on the field: “The way they were coming out to us without any reason, I did not like it at all.” That’s why I went after them.

In the meantime, former Pakistan captains Misbah-ul-Haq and Shoaib Malik commended the Indian openers for being “fearless.” The Indian team, which is thought to be the favorite to win the title, will now play Bangladesh in their second Super Fours encounter.
