In his post-match interview, Tilak expressed his emotions, acknowledging the significance of the moment. “I am okay. It was a difficult chance but I am happy we won the game. I cannot put it in words. It was my dream to play for the country, and the hundred came at the right time when the team needed it,” Tilak said.

He also praised his captain, Suryakumar Yadav, for the opportunity to bat at number three, a position that allowed him to showcase his skills. “All credit to Mr. Suryakumar Yadav, our captain. He gave me the opportunity to bat at 3 and told me to express myself. Thanks to him again,” Tilak said with a smile, as he turned towards Suryakumar.

Talking about his approach to the innings, Tilak emphasized staying grounded in his basics, despite the tricky pitch conditions. “The pitch was two-paced to start with, and it wasn’t easy for the new batters coming in when Abhishek got out. I was ready to bat long and was waiting for one,” he explained.

Tilak’s century not only sealed the victory for India but also reinforced his growing reputation as one of the most promising young talents in Indian cricket. His composure under pressure and ability to adapt to challenging conditions at the top of the order showed that he’s ready to play a key role for India in future T20I series.
