‘I Don’t Care..’: Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan Unapologetic Over ‘Gun-Fire’ Celebration Against India

After his controversial ‘gun-fire’ celebration against India, Pakistan’s Sahibzada Farhan doubled down on his action, stating he “doesn’t care” about the public’s reaction.

September 22, 2025: Sahibzada Farhan, who opened for Pakistan, says he doesn’t care what people thought of his “gun-fire” celebration during the Asia Cup Super Four match versus India. The gesture, which he made after scoring his fifty, has sparked a lot of anger from Indian fans, who said it was disrespectful because of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.

After hitting fifty runs off of 45 balls, which helped Pakistan reach a competitive total of 171/5, Farhan brandished his bat like a pistol and pointed it at his dressing room. The celebration was seen as harmless in normal situations, but it made people angry because it happened after the Pahalgam terror attack, which was on the minds of Indian players and spectators.

After the game, Farhan brushed off the incident at a press conference. He answered, “That was just a moment at that time.” “I don’t celebrate much after I score 50.” But then I thought, “Let’s have a party today…” I don’t know how people will react. That doesn’t matter to me. Andy Pycroft, the ICC’s match referee, has opted not to take any official action against the batsman, even if people are angry about it on social media. The celebration did not break the rules of conduct.
