Imran Khan’s Health Sparks Global Concern

Former cricket captains urge fair treatment as sisters allege threats

February 18, 2026: Jailed former Pakistan Prime Minister and cricket legend Imran Khan is reportedly facing serious health issues, prompting international concern. Several former cricket captains, including Sunil Gavaskar, Kapil Dev, Greg Chappell and Clive Lloyd, have jointly appealed to the Pakistan government to ensure fair treatment for the country’s cricketing icon. The appeal comes amid reports that Khan’s medical condition has deteriorated while he remains in custody.

Khan’s sisters, Dr Uzma Khan and Aleema Khan, have levelled serious allegations against Mohsin Naqvi, who also serves as chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board, claiming he has threatened them. They further alleged that Naqvi and Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir are part of a conspiracy against Khan’s life. Addressing the media, Uzma claimed her brother had told her about a plot against him, while Aleema raised concerns over his worsening eye condition and alleged that he was being denied access to his trusted medical team.

The sisters said their request for Khan to be examined by personal physicians was rejected, including a proposal to have a family representative oversee medical arrangements. Meanwhile, support has grown within the cricketing fraternity, with former Pakistan captains Wasim Akram and Waqar Younis also joining calls for transparency and urgent medical attention. The developments have intensified scrutiny over Khan’s condition and the circumstances surrounding his detention.
