Stellar Centuries from Jadeja and Sundar Secure a Hard-Fought Draw for India in Fourth Test Against England

Manchester, England: On Sunday, India created history at Old Trafford by getting a hard-fought draw in the fourth Test of the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025 against England, even though they were under a lot of strain. But even more impressively, this series has seen a historic batting performance from the Indian side, with four of their batters—Shubman Gill, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant, and Ravindra Jadeja—each scoring more than 400 runs in a single Test series for the first time

This amazing team effort shows how deep and consistent India’s batting order has been in the current five-match series. So far, in the four games:

Shubman Gill has been on fire, scoring 722 runs in eight innings with an amazing average of 90.25.

KL Rahul has been a key part of the team’s solidity, contributing 511 runs in the four Test matches.

Rishabh Pant, the vice-captain of Team India and a prolific wicketkeeper-batter, has scored 479 runs in seven innings with an average of 68.43.

Ravindra Jadeja, an all-around player who did a great job of saving the Manchester Test, has scored 454 runs in his four Test matches in this series.

After the four Tests, these four amazing players are the top four run-scorers in the whole Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy 2025. This is a genuinely remarkable and dominant show of batting skill.

Recap of the match: Jadeja and Sundar’s great plays Save the Day
As the fourth Test came to a thrilling end, it was Ravindra Jadeja and Washington Sundar’s brilliant centuries in the second innings that helped India get the important draw. India batted for more than five torturous sessions to rescue the game at Old Trafford, where the contest came down to the wire.

At the end of the last session on Day 5, India was strong at 425/4, with Jadeja not out on 107* and Sundar not out on 101*. The two stubborn players put together an amazing 203-run stand for the fifth wicket, which made the English bowlers angry and kept them from winning.

Even though India fought hard, England’s skipper Ben Stokes deserved to win the Player of the Match award for his great all-around effort. Stokes got the award for taking five wickets in the first innings and then scoring a great century with the bat. This is his second Player of the Match award in a row in the series, which shows how important he is to England.

England didn’t get any wickets in the last two sessions of Day 5. They did, however, get the key wickets of Indian captain Shubman Gill and KL Rahul in the first session of the day.

India has a lot of history with their hard-fought draw at Old Trafford. India has never been able to draw a Test match at this famous cricket field in 35 years. The last time the visitors did this was in 1990. With England leading the series 2-1, the fifth and final Test will be quite exciting.
