March 12, 2025: Sri Lanka Masters, India Masters, West Indies Masters, and Australia Masters have all qualified for the semi-finals of the inaugural International Masters League (IML). The semi-finals are set to take place in Raipur, with India and Sri Lanka emerging as strong contenders after a thrilling league phase.
India Masters, who sit second in the points table with eight points from five league matches, will play the first semi-final against the third-placed team on Thursday, March 13. The Sri Lanka Masters, topping the points table with eight points and a superior Net Run Rate (NRR), will face the team that finishes fourth in the second semi-final on Friday, March 14.
The third and fourth spots will be determined after the final league game between Australia Masters and England Masters, which is scheduled for later today. Australia Masters are currently on four points, with one game remaining, while the West Indies Masters have accumulated six points after completing all their group-stage matches.
The final of the IML will be held in Raipur on Sunday, March 16.
India Masters secured their spot in the semi-finals in dramatic fashion, edging out West Indies Masters by seven runs in a thrilling encounter. The victory was built on a crucial three-wicket performance from Stuart Binny and a smart final over from Irfan Pathan, keeping India’s hopes alive in their quest for the title. Although the iconic Sachin Tendulkar vs. Brian Lara rivalry wasn’t rekindled in this match, the contest still managed to deliver plenty of excitement and nostalgic moments for fans.
