February 20, 2025: Ramandeep Singh, the talented all-rounder from Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), is gearing up for a standout performance in the upcoming IPL 2025 season, focusing on making an impact with the ball. After playing a pivotal role in KKR’s title-winning 2024 campaign, where his aggressive batting in the middle order earned him a place in Team India, Ramandeep is now setting his sights on becoming a key bowler for the defending champions.

In a heartfelt conversation on Knight Live Adda, Ramandeep opened up about his journey and aspirations. Fresh off a strong showing in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where he took 5 wickets at an economy rate of 8.10 in seven matches for Punjab, Ramandeep is excited to expand his role within KKR.

“The coaching staff has high expectations from me as a bowler, just like they had from my batting,” said the 27-year-old. “A couple of impactful overs in the middle of the bowling innings will be very important for the team, and I am focusing on that. I want to win games as a bowler.” Ramandeep’s commitment to strengthening his bowling reflects his determination to be a dual-threat for his team this season.

His retention by KKR in the IPL mega auction is a testament to the faith the franchise has in his abilities. In the 2024 season, Ramandeep’s explosive batting earned him a strike rate of 201.61, scoring 125 runs, which helped propel KKR to the title. His performances in the IPL put him firmly in the limelight, leading to his Team India debut in the T20I series against South Africa in late 2024.

I’ve worked hard to reach this point, and now, I’m reaping the rewards of that effort. Being retained in the mega auction is a special moment, and I will give my 100% to the team once again.”

Having been born in Punjab, Ramandeep has a special connection with Eden Gardens and its passionate fan base. “We have the most wonderful fans at Eden Gardens. Their support and chants ensure that I have a very special connection with them,” he said, looking forward to entertaining the fans once again in the upcoming season.

As KKR prepares for their IPL 2025 opener against Royal Challengers Bengaluru on March 22, Ramandeep’s evolution into a reliable bowler could play a crucial role in KKR’s quest to retain the IPL trophy. With his determination and all-around skill set, he is poised to be one of the key players to watch in the upcoming season.
