Yashasvi Jaiswal scores a gritty 67 while Riyan Parag finishes strong as Rajasthan Royals post 205/4; Punjab face a record chase on a tricky surface.
April 5, 2025: PBKS vs RR, IPL 2025: Jaiswal, Parag Power Royals To 205/4, Set Stiff Target For Punjab Kings
Rajasthan Royals posted a commanding 205/4 against Punjab Kings in their IPL 2025 clash at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur on Saturday. It marked the first 200+ total at the new venue.

Opting to bowl first, PBKS captain Shreyas Iyer saw his bowlers struggle to contain a composed Yashasvi Jaiswal, who anchored the innings with a 67-run knock off 45 balls — his slowest IPL fifty, but a crucial one on a surface offering some assistance to bowlers.
Sanju Samson added a brisk 38 before falling to Lockie Ferguson, who later dismissed Jaiswal with a clever knuckleball to shift momentum briefly.

However, Rajasthan Royals regained the upper hand as Riyan Parag turned on the heat at the death with some clean hitting. Parag finished unbeaten on 45 off 21 balls, while Shimron Hetmyer added 20 off 12, including a dropped catch and a big six.
PBKS’s Marcus Stoinis leaked 19 runs in the final over as Royals reached a daunting total of 205. Among the bowlers, Arshdeep Singh was the most successful with 1/28, while Lockie Ferguson impressed with two wickets.
The chase will test Punjab’s batting depth as the pitch hasn’t been the flattest and Rajasthan’s attack — featuring Archer, Hasaranga, and Theekshana — will be hard to handle.
