March 17, 2025: As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season draws near, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) skipper Rishabh Pant has set the tone for his leadership by focusing on building a team environment where players can express themselves freely. Pant addressed his teammates in a motivational team meeting, sharing his vision for the upcoming season and encouraging the squad to be themselves both on and off the field.

The team, led by Pant, is gearing up for their opening match against his former side, Delhi Capitals, on March 24 in Visakhapatnam. In a video posted by LSG, Pant emphasized the importance of creating a culture where everyone feels comfortable expressing their ideas, knowing that trust and communication are essential for success.

“We want to create a place where people can come and express themselves,” Pant said. “It is just a very simple idea. It’s easier to say than to do it because it requires a lot of effort from each and every individual. It is not just the management, I think it is because of the players we can create that environment.”

The 25-year-old also highlighted the wealth of experience in the squad, with seasoned players such as Nicholas Pooran, Aiden Markram, and David Miller, alongside management who can provide valuable insights. Pant believes this combination will help guide the younger players and ensure a positive environment where they can grow and perform at their best.

“I feel there is a lot of experience in the group. I think management has a lot of experience. We have a lot of senior players—Nikky P (Pooran), Aiden Makram, David Miller, and many more. Just keep sharing your experience with the younger guys and let that experience flow in this group,” he added. “We can learn a lot from all the senior guys and take it forward one day at a time, giving our 100 percent while keeping the best interest of the team.”

Pant also urged his players to focus on the bigger picture, aiming to create lasting memories together. By fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere, he hopes the team will perform well not just on the field but also bond deeply as a group.

“Let us create lots of love among each other. So when we go back from here, I think we should look to improve ourselves as a player, as a human being, and just have lots of fun together,” Pant concluded.

Pant's journey in IPL has been marked by success, especially with his former team, Delhi Capitals. He scored over 3,000 runs in 110 matches for the Capitals and led them to the playoffs in 2021. In the 2024 IPL mega auction, Pant was signed by LSG for a record-breaking Rs 27 crore, making him the most expensive player in the league's history. The franchise has now entrusted him with the captaincy for IPL 2025, and Pant is eager to lead his new team toward greater heights.
