The IPL Governing Council is currently finalizing the locations for the business end of the IPL 2026 season. While the initial schedule was released in phases to accommodate state assembly election dates, the venues for the high-stakes playoffs and the grand final remain officially unconfirmed. However, according to latest reports, Bengaluru and New Chandigarh have emerged as the frontrunners to host these marquee clashes.

Traditionally, the final is hosted at the home ground of the defending champions, but logistical considerations and election schedules often prompt the BCCI to explore alternative neutral venues. The inclusion of the Mullanpur Stadium (New Chandigarh) as a prime candidate highlights the BCCI’s interest in utilizing newer, world-class facilities for the tournament’s climax.
With the season having kicked off on March 28, fans are eagerly awaiting a formal announcement, which is expected once the BCCI and local authorities finish assessing security and broadcasting requirements across the shortlisted cities.
