Unresponsive After Match, Police Begin Probe
March 31, 2026: A foreign national, identified as Langford, was found unresponsive in his room at the Trident Hotel after attending an IPL match at Wankhede Stadium on March 29. According to police, he had returned to his room after the Mumbai Indians vs Kolkata Knight Riders game, but failed to respond to repeated calls from hotel staff the following morning.
Concerned over the lack of response, hotel authorities entered the room using a master key and found him lying unconscious on the floor. The in-house doctor was immediately called and declared him dead. His body was later shifted to a hospital for further examination.
The Mumbai Police has registered a case of accidental death (ADR) and stated that no suspicious circumstances have been found so far. A postmortem has been conducted, and the exact cause of death will be confirmed once the report is received.
