Anchor Smashes TV On Live Show in Rage at Rishabh Pant’s IPL Struggles-Watch

During a heated live discussion on Pant’s underwhelming IPL 2025 form, a SportsTak presenter lost control, breaking a TV screen and pushing a glass table mid-broadcast.

March 28, 2025: New Delhi:
The pressure of IPL can weigh heavily on players—but it seems it’s also starting to affect those off the field. During a live broadcast on SportsTak, a sports anchor lost his composure while discussing Rishabh Pant’s poor start in IPL 2025, smashing a television screen and nearly toppling a glass table in an unhinged moment that has since gone viral.

Pant, who was picked by Lucknow Super Giants for a record ₹27 crore, has so far failed to justify his massive price tag. After a duck in the first match against Delhi Capitals, he followed it up with a sluggish 15 off 15 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Despite LSG’s win, Pant’s performance was underwhelming—especially given the blistering efforts from Nicholas Pooran (70 off 26) and Mitchell Marsh (52 off 26) that drove the team to victory in just 16.1 overs.

As the post-match panel dissected Pant’s contribution, the anchor exploded in frustration:

“IPL is going on. He (Rishabh Pant) had his chance, but I’m telling you—he has become predictable. You cannot trust him. What sort of a captain is he? We don’t need a captain like him!”

He then hurled objects at the studio TV screen, causing visible damage, before violently shoving a glass table in front of him. The shocking outburst has triggered a debate online over sports commentary, fan expectations, and Pant’s future as a leader.

Pant’s overall strike rate in IPL 2025 stands at just 71, the lowest among batters who’ve crossed double digits this season. In 21 balls across two games, he has hit just one six and zero boundaries. His wicketkeeping and captaincy have also come under fire following LSG’s earlier loss to DC.

Despite the criticisms, LSG bounced back with a dominant win, thanks largely to Shardul Thakur’s match-winning 4/34, a spell that included back-to-back dismissals of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan.

The franchise has much to celebrate, but with Pant under the microscope, the road ahead may be just as volatile—on and off the field.
