Avesh, Keshav Shine as RR Restricts PBKS to 147/8 in IPL Thriller

In an intense IPL 2024 showdown, Rajasthan Royals (RR) showcased their bowling prowess, led by Avesh Khan and Keshav Maharaj, to limit Punjab Kings (PBKS) to 147/8 in their 20 overs at Mullanpur Stadium.

Avesh and Keshav’s fiery spells kept PBKS batsmen on their toes, with a quick cameo from Ashutosh Sharma adding crucial runs to the scoreboard.

After being put in to bat, PBKS started cautiously, but Avesh struck early to dismiss Atharva Taide for a brisk 15.

Despite a steady partnership between Prabhsimran Singh and Jonny Bairstow, wickets fell at regular intervals, with Maharaj getting rid of Bairstow cheaply.

Jitesh Sharma and Ashutosh Sharma provided some resistance, but tight bowling from RR restricted PBKS to a modest total.

Ashutosh’s impactful knock of 31 runs off 16 balls, supported by Liam Livingstone’s contribution, propelled PBKS to a respectable score of 147/8.

In response, RR will need to chase down 148 runs to secure their fifth win in the tournament.

With stellar performances from Maharaj (2/23) and Avesh (2/34), along with contributions from other bowlers, RR looks poised for an exciting chase.
