Cricket Meets Colours: How IPL Stars and Legends Celebrated Holi 2025
📍 New Delhi, March 15: The festival of Holi 2025 saw Indian cricket icons and IPL teams soaking in the festive spirit, celebrating with vibrant hues and camaraderie. From Sachin Tendulkar and Virender Sehwag to KL Rahul and IPL squads, cricketers embraced the occasion, sharing glimpses of their colourful celebrations.
As the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 gears up for an electrifying season, teams took a joyful break from training to indulge in the festival of colours.
Sachin Tendulkar, who is currently playing in the International Masters League (IML) alongside Yuvraj Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Ambati Rayudu, shared a fun-filled Holi video with his teammates.
📢 In a playful moment, Sachin was seen drenching Yuvraj Singh with a water gun, while Yusuf Pathan and Rayudu also joined in the revelry, applying vibrant colours.
📢 Former Indian opener Virender Sehwag posted:
“May the splashes of colour brighten your life with laughter, love, joy, and unforgettable memories. #HappyHoli” along with pictures of himself covered in colours.
📢 KL Rahul also wished his fans a “happy and colourful” Holi on X.
Several IPL franchises joined in the celebrations, making Holi a memorable team bonding experience ahead of the IPL 2025 season.
Defending champions KKR embraced the festive spirit at their team hotel. Ajinkya Rahane, Venkatesh Iyer, Rinku Singh, and Angkrish Raghuvanshi were seen indulging in colourful celebrations, while head coach Chandrakant Pandit and spin coach Carl Crowe joined in.
At the Lucknow camp, captain Rishabh Pant, head coach Justin Langer, and vice-captain Nicholas Pooran were in a joyful mood. Langer, drenched in colour, was seen sporting a funky hat, wig, and sunglasses, adding to the lighthearted celebrations.
At Ahmedabad, head coach Ashish Nehra and spinner Sai Kishore enjoyed a splash of colours alongside teammates Sai Sudharsan and assistant coach Matthew Wade.
Riyan Parag and Dhruv Jurel had an exciting Holi, with Jurel drenching Parag in pink colours. Even head coach Rahul Dravid joined in, seen wearing a traditional Holi turban.
Both DC and PBKS camps took a break from training to celebrate Holi. Yuzvendra Chahal, known for his humor, made a “Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham” style grand entry, only to be covered in colours by his fans. In a hilarious moment, Chahal jokingly asked for “privacy” and rushed inside a room to escape further colour attacks.
Holi marks the triumph of good over evil and is celebrated with colours, music, and joy across the country. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu also extended their wishes on X.
📢 PM Modi: “I wish you all a very Happy Holi. This festival, filled with joy and happiness, will infuse new enthusiasm and energy into everyone’s life and will also deepen the colours of unity among the countrymen.”
📢 President Murmu: “Holi is a festival of unity, love, and harmony—a symbol of India’s cultural heritage. Let us pledge to fill lives with progress, prosperity, and happiness.”
With the IPL 2025 season just around the corner, cricket’s biggest stars took time off their intense preparations to celebrate the spirit of togetherness. As they gear up for the thrilling tournament ahead, Holi has added an extra splash of energy and enthusiasm to the upcoming season.
