Early Jolt For CSK As Ayush Mhatre Falls In First Over Against KKR

May 07, 2025: Chennai Super Kings (CSK) suffered an early setback in their high-stakes IPL 2025 clash against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Eden Gardens, as opener Ayush Mhatre was dismissed in the very first over of the innings.

Responding to KKR’s decision to bat first after winning the toss, CSK found themselves in trouble at 8/1 at the end of the first over. Ayush Mhatre, who has shown promise in earlier games, failed to make an impact today as KKR’s bowling attack struck swiftly to draw first blood.

The wicket came as a momentum booster for KKR, who are eyeing a crucial win in front of their home crowd to strengthen their position on the points table. CSK will now rely on their experienced middle order to steady the innings and build a solid foundation for the chase.

The clash between the two IPL giants has drawn massive attention, with playoff spots on the line and both teams fielding strong lineups.

Live action continues as CSK look to recover from the early loss.
