Faf Du Plessis praises RCB's resilient turnaround after decisive victory
After securing a significant 60-run victory against Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) captain Faf Du Plessis commended his team for their remarkable turnaround this season.
Despite a powerful half-century from Rilee Rossouw, it was RCB’s bowlers who shined, dismissing PBKS for a mere 181 runs in Dharamsala.
In his post-match remarks, Faf highlighted the strategic shifts that contributed to the team’s recent success. “That was a good game. We have scored 200-plus in the last five or six games. We have had good conversations, we were making the same mistakes over and over again. We needed aggression with the bat. We just spoke about taking wickets. We have 6-7 options in the bowling department. You need some form on your side. A bit of luck is also required,” he explained.
Du Plessis also praised the collective effort of his team, particularly noting the improvements in both batting and bowling. “We had a few guys looking for wickets and runs at the start of the tournament. The boys have shown character to turn it around. Everyone has chipped in with runs and the bowlers are taking wickets. For us, it is important to focus on ourselves,” he added.
This victory not only demonstrates RCB’s capacity to address and rectify their early-season challenges but also keeps their hopes alive as they continue to push forward in the IPL 2024.
