The rain intensity has now reduced, and with the venue’s top-tier drainage system, officials remain optimistic about getting some play underway tonight.
According to the latest update, overs will start being deducted from 8:45 PM IST. The cut-off time for a five-overs-a-side match is 10:56 PM, giving organizers a generous window to conduct at least a shortened game.
This match marks the resumption of IPL 2025 after the brief pause during recent national developments, and fans were especially eager to watch Virat Kohli’s tribute at the venue.
