Rishabh Pant Praises Pooran, Shardul and Prince Yadav After Commanding Win Over SRH
Hyderabad, March 28: Following Lucknow Super Giants’ clinical five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad in their latest IPL 2025 clash, skipper Rishabh Pant credited the team’s young guns and match-winners for stepping up under pressure.
At the post-match presentation, Pant called the win a “big relief” and praised the attitude of his players.
“It’s about not getting too high when you win or too low when you lose. We’re focusing on the controllables, that’s something my mentor Zaheer Khan keeps telling me. Really happy with how Prince Yadav and Shardul Thakur bowled, and of course, Pooran has been batting brilliantly,” Pant said.
Pant also explained the decision to promote Nicholas Pooran to No. 3, a move that paid off handsomely.
“We just want to give him freedom. When someone is in form, you’ve got to hand over the reins. He’s been explosive and effective for us,” he added.
Match Recap:
Chasing 191, LSG lost Aiden Markram early but stormed back into the contest with a blazing 116-run partnership between Nicholas Pooran (70 off 26) and Mitchell Marsh (52 off 31).
A late cameo from Abdul Samad (22 off 8)* sealed the chase with 23 balls to spare.
Shardul Thakur was rightly awarded the Player of the Match for his game-changing spell.
With this win, LSG move ahead on the points table, while SRH are left reeling from another defeat, needing to regroup ahead of their next fixture.
