SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) continued their dismal run in IPL 2025, falling to their fourth straight defeat on Sunday.
April 7, 2025: The 43-run loss to Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad left fans and franchise owner Kavya Maran visibly frustrated — especially after Abhishek Sharma’s careless dismissal early in the innings.
On the fourth delivery of the fifth over, Mohammed Siraj bowled a good length delivery that Abhishek attempted to loft over mid-on. Instead, he mistimed it straight into the hands of Rahul Tewatia. Abhishek walked back for 18 off 16 balls, and as the camera panned to the SRH dugout, Kavya Maran was seen expressing her frustration with animated gestures, clearly upset with the shot selection.

😡 Kavya’s Reaction Goes Viral
Known for her emotional involvement in SRH matches, Kavya Maran’s visible anger quickly went viral. Her hand gestures and fuming expression summed up the sentiment of many SRH fans as yet another top-order collapse derailed the team’s innings.

Soon after Abhishek’s exit, Ishan Kishan was also dismissed cheaply for 17, leaving SRH struggling to post a competitive total.
💥 Gujarat Titans Dominate the Chase
After restricting SRH to 152/8, the Shubman Gill-led GT side chased down the target comfortably with seven wickets in hand and 20 balls to spare. Gill remained unbeaten on 61, while Sherfane Rutherford added 35 not out, guiding GT to a third consecutive win.
SRH had a promising start with the ball — Pat Cummins and Mohammed Shami dismissed Sai Sudharsan and Jos Buttler early. However, inconsistent bowling and lack of breakthroughs allowed GT to cruise home.
📉 SRH Sink to Bottom of the Table
With just two points from five matches, SRH have now slipped to the bottom of the IPL 2025 standings. The 2024 finalists look a shadow of their former selves, especially with a misfiring batting lineup and questionable shot selections under pressure.
They will look to regroup quickly before facing Punjab Kings on Saturday, April 12.
