KL Rahul keeps calm in 'animated' chat with LSG owner after 10-wicket thrashing
In an explosive display of T20 cricket, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) decimated Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by ten wickets, achieving the fastest 10-over score in T20 history. The SRH openers, Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, showcased their batting prowess by chasing down a target of 166 in just 9.4 overs at a record-breaking pace.
A post-match video captured an animated discussion between LSG’s franchise owner Sanjiv Goenka and team skipper KL Rahul, reflecting the intensity and pressure of the moment. The duo of Head and Sharma not only contributed to one of the highest powerplay scores in T20 history but also secured a century stand within the powerplay for the second time this IPL season.
After setting what seemed a competitive target of 167, LSG could only watch as Head and Sharma tore through their bowling lineup with what Rahul described as “unreal” batting. “Am lost for words. We have watched that kind of batting on TV. But this is unreal batting. Everything seemed to find the middle of the bat. Kudos to their skills. They have worked hard on their six-hitting skills,” Rahul expressed, overwhelmed by the sheer skill level displayed by the SRH openers.
This significant defeat not only handed LSG their sixth loss of the IPL 2024 season but also dealt a severe blow to their net run rate, dropping them below Delhi Capitals in the rankings.
