Kuldeep Yadav Eyes Impact at Chepauk Ahead of CSK vs DC IPL 2025 Clash

Delhi Capitals’ star spinner aims to keep it tight and take wickets against Chennai Super Kings; says spin and length will be key on the turning Chennai track

As the Delhi Capitals (DC) gear up to face Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in their first away match of the IPL 2025 at the iconic M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, spinner Kuldeep Yadav has laid out his plans to take on the five-time champions on their home turf.

Having delivered impressive spells in the first two games at Visakhapatnam, the left-arm wrist spinner is now focusing on reading the conditions in Chennai and adjusting his lengths accordingly.

Chennai Super Kings have some quality players in their lineup. My plan is simple – take wickets and keep things tight. Length is very important on this pitch, and that’s where my focus is. My strength has always been to turn the ball, and I want to continue doing that,” Kuldeep said in a press release from Delhi Capitals.

While CSK comes into the match with one win and two losses, DC will be hoping to build on their early momentum. Kuldeep, who recently celebrated taking his 50th wicket for DC, spoke about the continued importance of learning and adapting as a spinner.

Noor Ahmad is bowling really well and learning from everyone. We had a chat last night about bowling leg-spin – he’s quick through the air, and that makes him harder to pick, especially on turning tracks like Chennai.

Kuldeep, 30, also reflected on his growth as a spinner and credited Shane Warne for shaping his cricketing foundation. “I grew up watching Warne’s videos. In my academy days, I also learned from a senior leg-spinner. Watching, learning, and adapting—that’s how I’ve kept improving.”

DC vs CSK: Match Details

DC’s squad is filled with a mix of international stars and young Indian talents, led by Axar Patel and featuring the likes of Mitchell Starc, Faf du Plessis, and KL Rahul. CSK, led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, will rely on the experience of Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, and spin wizard Noor Ahmad on their home ground.

Both teams are eyeing momentum in the early stages of the tournament, but with Chennai’s spin-friendly surface, wrist spinners like Kuldeep and Noor could prove decisive.

The high-voltage CSK vs DC clash is scheduled for Saturday at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.
