Uncapped batter Mukul Choudhary delivered a sensational performance to guide Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to a thrilling three-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their Indian Premier League 2026 clash in Kolkata on Tuesday.
Bought for Rs 2.6 crore in the IPL auction, Mukul played a heroic knock of 54 runs off just 27 balls, helping LSG complete a dramatic chase of 182 runs on the final ball of the match.
His explosive power-hitting turned the game on its head, with LSG recovering from a precarious 128/7 to pull off one of the most memorable chases of the season so far.

Badoni Supports With Crucial Half-Century
While Mukul stole the spotlight, Ayush Badoni also played a vital role in the successful chase.
Badoni struck a composed 54 off 34 deliveries, ensuring LSG stayed within touching distance of the target before Mukul finished the job in style.
The victory marked two consecutive wins for the Rishabh Pant-led Lucknow Super Giants, boosting their momentum in the ongoing IPL season.
KKR Post Competitive Total Of 181/4
Earlier in the match, Kolkata Knight Riders put up a competitive total of 181/4 in 20 overs, powered by key contributions from their top order.
Captain Ajinkya Rahane scored 41 runs, while young batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi added 45 to steady the innings.
Power-hitter Rovman Powell chipped in with a quick 39 runs, giving KKR a strong platform heading into the second innings.
However, despite setting a challenging total, KKR’s bowlers were unable to contain LSG’s late surge.
KKR Struggle Continues With Third Loss
The defeat marked KKR’s third loss in four matches, putting early pressure on the team in IPL 2026.
Meanwhile, Lucknow Super Giants strengthened their position in the standings with back-to-back wins, thanks to the emergence of Mukul Choudhary as a new match-winner.
