“Neither Satisfied Nor Content” Shreyas Iyer

The Punjab Kings captain urges his team to stay focused and seize every opportunity ahead of the knockout stage.

May 25, 2025: Punjab Kings (PBKS) captain Shreyas Iyer has made it clear he isn’t resting on his laurels, even as his side secured a spot in the IPL 2025 playoffs. Speaking at the toss for their clash against Delhi Capitals (DC) at Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, Iyer said bluntly, “I am not satisfied and content.”

PBKS, with eight wins in twelve games, are eyeing a top-two finish as they face the already eliminated DC. Despite their playoff berth, Iyer emphasized the need to “build momentum” and maintain focus as they head into the knockout stage. “Each and every individual is performing for the team,” he said. “The job is only half done. It’s important to stay in the present and seize every possible chance.”

Meanwhile, DC captain Faf du Plessis, whose side has been knocked out of playoff contention, opted to bowl first, highlighting their desire to end the season on a positive note. “It’s been very frustrating,” du Plessis admitted, adding that DC is aiming for a fifth-place finish.

PBKS welcomed back Josh Inglis and Marcus Stoinis for the clash, while DC saw Sameer Rizvi and Karun Nair slot into their lineup.
