Parthiv on Powell’s move to RR in IPL 2024 Auction, “If he was not available then…,”

In a statement, former Indian cricketer Parthiv Patel stated that the Rajasthan Royals (RR) would have chosen someone else at the Indian Premier League (IPL) Auction 2024 if the Caribbean had not existed.
Speaking at Jio Cinema, Parthiv claimed that the Caribbean batter was the reason for the excitement surrounding the beginning of the IPL 2024 auction. At the auction, Powell’s was the first name called. Thus, we witnessed something unique. You don’t witness this kind of enthusiasm right away. However, Powell experienced that. Time is of the essence. Franchises don’t want to stand by and observe. They pursue someone who they believe can meet their expectations.

They pursue someone who they believe can meet their expectations. Maybe they would have gone after someone else if he hadn’t been available,” Patel remarked. Kolkata Knight Riders made the first bid for Powell, who had set his base price at Rs 1 crore. The Rajasthan Royals entered the race for Powell.
Powell won an incredible Rs 7.4 crore as the captain of the Barbados Royals in the CPL. Kolkata made a strong bid, but Rajasthan beat them to get the batter’s services. With a century and five fifties, the WI T20I captain has played in 66 T20Is and amassed 1,202 runs at an average of 26.71 and a strike rate of over 143.

Conversely, former England captain Eoin Morgan discussed Harry Brook’s transfer to the Delhi Capitals (DC) and stated that 4 crores rupees is a good deal for a player of his calibre.
Delhi won’t suit Brook, he continued, unlike other Indian cities. “I consider Harry Brook to be a middle-order hitter. As AB de Villiers pointed out, the level of fitness surrounding Anrich Nortje may depend on the composition of their team. They have players like Lungi Ngidi who can fill in, but that may also depend on the pitch’s conditions.

Although I believe Delhi won’t suit Brook as much as other Indian cities, I still see him playing in the middle order. Still, $4 million for such a good player is a great deal,” Morgan remarked.
Unlike his previous high price tag of Rs 13.25 crore, Brook was purchased by the Delhi-based team for Rs 4 crore. In 27 Twenty20 Internationals, the youthful right-hand hitter for England has amassed 531 runs in 25 innings at a strike rate exceeding 145 and an average of 27.94, along with two half-centuries.

After being acquired for Rs 13.25 crores, he had a lacklustre IPL season with Sunrisers Hyderabad, amassing just 190 runs at an average of 21.11 in 11 games, including one century. He has amassed 3,019 runs at an average of more than 33 and a strike rate exceeding 150 in 125 T20 matches, including three hundreds and eleven fifties.
