Rahul Dravid Reacts on Sanju Samson Rift Rumours: Here's What he Said!
April 19, 2025: Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid has firmly denied rumours of a rift with captain Sanju Samson, calling them “baseless” in a press conference ahead of RR’s IPL 2025 clash against Lucknow Super Giants. The speculation stemmed from a viral video showing Samson walking away from a dugout discussion before the Super Over against Delhi Capitals — which some online interpreted as tension within the camp.
“I don’t know where these reports are coming from. Sanju and I are on the same page,” Dravid clarified.
He added that Samson remains “an integral part” of RR’s leadership group and is involved in “every decision and discussion.” Dravid said the team remains united, despite recent criticism after back-to-back losses.

“We can take criticism on performance, but not on made-up stuff. The team spirit is very good. These players work incredibly hard, and people often forget how much it hurts them when they don’t perform,” he added.
Sanju Samson’s availability for the upcoming match remains uncertain after he retired hurt due to a side strain during the recent match against Delhi Capitals, which RR lost in a Super Over.

“Sanju experienced pain in the abdominal area… We’ve done scans and are waiting for the results,” said Dravid.
The team will decide on his participation once medical reports confirm the severity of the injury.
With RR fighting for a top-four playoff spot, all eyes will be on:
