Rohit becomes first Indian to hit 500 T20 sixes, hits 2nd IPL ton

India and Mumbai Indians star, Rohit Sharma, etched his name in the record books by becoming the first Indian cricketer to hit over 500 sixes in T20 cricket. This landmark achievement came during an IPL clash against Chennai Super Kings at Wankhede Stadium.

Displaying his signature flair, Rohit notched up an unbeaten 105 from 63 deliveries, punctuating his innings with 11 fours and five sixes, pushing his career total to 502 sixes. Amidst a challenging game where wickets fell at the other end, he anchored the innings superbly, striking at 166.67.

Rohit now joins an elite list of global power-hitters, trailing behind Chris Gayle, who leads with 1,056 sixes, Kieron Pollard with 860, Andre Russell with 678, and Colin Munro with 548.

This season, Rohit has been in fine form, amassing 261 runs in six matches at an average of 52.20 and a strike rate just over 167, including a century.
