The video, posted on the eve of MI’s clash against Lucknow Super Giants at Ekana Stadium, shows a brief and cryptic exchange between Rohit Sharma and LSG mentor Zaheer Khan, before highlighting Rohit sharing a hug with LSG skipper Rishabh Pant.
But it was those first few seconds of the clip that grabbed attention.
“Jo jab karna tha maine kiya barabar se, ab mereko kuch karne ki zarurat nahi hai,” Rohit is heard telling Zaheer — which loosely translates to: “I did what had to be done, now I don’t need to do anything.”

While the context of the chat remains unknown, fans online quickly drew parallels with a similar controversy from IPL 2024, where a video of Rohit’s chat with KKR coach Abhishek Nayar had gone viral. In that clip, Rohit had allegedly hinted at tensions within the MI setup, fuelling speculations about internal unrest.

The earlier incident, which took place before a match against KKR, had created a stir until KKR’s CEO Venky Mysore downplayed the situation, calling it “a storm in a teacup” and insisting the players were “just talking about something else.”
This time around, the context remains unclear, but fans have already started dissecting the conversation, with many worried that Rohit’s remarks hint at ongoing issues within the MI camp — especially after he was replaced as captain for the 2025 season.
Despite the MI social media team captioning the reel playfully with “Q: For how long are you going to watch this reel? A: Haaanjiiii”, users online latched onto the candid conversation, sparking intense speculation.
As MI gear up to face LSG on Friday night, all eyes will be on Rohit — not just for his performance, but also for any potential fallout from this new viral moment.
