Rohit Sharma’s Poor IPL 2025 Run Continues With Another Failure Against DC

Mumbai Indians veteran Rohit Sharma managed just 18 runs before falling to Vipraj Nigam’s delivery. Fans call his slump “desperate” as questions grow over his place in the XI.

New Delhi, April 13 – Mumbai Indians’ batting woes in IPL 2025 deepened as Rohit Sharma once again failed to deliver with the bat, managing only 18 runs against table-toppers Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. This was Rohit’s fifth underwhelming outing of the season, taking his total tally to just 56 runs in 5 matches.

Although Rohit began positively, striking two boundaries and a six, his innings was cut short by DC pacer Vipraj Nigam, who trapped him LBW. While the on-field umpire gave it not out, DC skipper Axar Patel opted for a review, and the third umpire reversed the decision — handing DC a crucial early breakthrough.

Match Context:

Axar remarked, “The challenge is to stick to our plan and stay brave, even if you’re hit for a six.”

Hardik Pandya, leading the struggling MI side (currently ranked 9th), reiterated his belief in the squad: “We’re not hitting the panic button. There’s experience here, we just need one good game to turn things around.”

The match was played on the centre strip with short square boundaries (60m, 66m) and a 72m straight boundary, on a cracked surface expected to assist bowlers more than in previous seasons.
