Shikhar Dhawan Introduces Girlfriend to the World: Deets Inside
May 2, 2025, Cricketer Shikhar Dhawan has made headlines off the field by confirming his relationship with Sophie Shine, an Irish model, in a heartfelt social media post. A photo shared by Sophie on Instagram, captioned “My heart ❤️,” was reshared by Dhawan, effectively putting an end to weeks of speculation following their viral appearance during the Champions Trophy 2025.

The couple’s photo had sparked curiosity online, with Sophie initially being dubbed a “mystery woman.” When recently asked by an anchor to confirm his girlfriend’s identity, Dhawan cheekily replied, “I won’t take any name. But the most beautiful girl in the room is my girlfriend.” The camera quickly panned to Sophie, sealing the speculation.
Switching focus back to cricket, Dhawan also praised Rajasthan Royals’ 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi, whose blistering 35-ball century against Gujarat Titans has become the talk of IPL 2025.
“It’s not just the hundred, but the confidence he showed at such a young age that impressed me the most,” Dhawan said during the Intercontinental Legends Championship (ILC) launch event.
Suryavanshi’s knock of 101 off 38 balls, including 11 sixes and 7 fours, broke a 15-year-old RR record held by Yusuf Pathan. His century is also the second-fastest in IPL history and has set a benchmark for young cricketers nationwide.
“The way he dominated international-quality bowlers is a remarkable feat… It’ll serve as motivation for every aspiring young cricketer in India,” Dhawan added.
The veteran batter also praised other emerging talents like Ayush Mhatre, noting the encouraging trend of teenagers making their mark in top-tier cricket.
