"Sir, Why Worry When...?": Rohit Sharma’s Hilarious Chat With Sanjiv Goenka Goes Viral
April 6, 2025– Even when he’s not in the playing XI, Rohit Sharma has a way of staying in the spotlight. The Mumbai Indians star was ruled out of Friday’s IPL 2025 match against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) due to a knee injury, but that didn’t stop him from influencing the game—or from delivering a classic one-liner that’s gone viral.
During a strategic timeout while LSG were cruising at 69/0 in 6 overs, Rohit stepped in with tactical advice for captain Hardik Pandya. Commentator Saba Karim revealed that Rohit simply said: “Bowl a little slower.” Just a few deliveries later, Hardik bowled a slower bouncer to dismiss the dangerous Nicholas Pooran, handing MI a breakthrough.

“There are only 11 players on the field, but Rohit came from outside and said, ‘Bowl slower’—and Hardik executed it perfectly,” said Karim on air.
Post-match, a video featuring Rohit Sharma, LSG co-owner Sanjiv Goenka, and Shardul Thakur (a.k.a. “Lord”) began doing the rounds on social media. With a smile on his face, Rohit turned to Goenka and joked:
“Sir, why worry, when you have Lord?”
— referring to Shardul in his fan-given nickname.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the banter, praising Rohit’s effortless humor even amid a loss.
Rohit’s absence was confirmed by Hardik Pandya at the toss, saying, “Rohit was hit on the knee. He is missing out.”
So far, Rohit’s form this season has been underwhelming:
With MI off to a shaky start and Rohit nursing an injury, his return to both form and fitness will be key to Mumbai’s playoff hopes.
Whether it’s strategic input or comic timing, Rohit Sharma’s presence continues to make headlines—even from the sidelines.
