Chennai, April 11 – The reunion of MS Dhoni and Dwayne Bravo ahead of the much-anticipated CSK vs KKR clash has sent the internet into a frenzy. But what really lit up the moment was Dhoni’s trademark wit as he greeted his longtime teammate-turned-rival coach with a cheeky jibe:

The light-hearted comment was made during a practice session at Chepauk, where Bravo—now the bowling coach for Kolkata Knight Riders—walked up to greet Dhoni. The two legends, who shared iconic moments during their time at Chennai Super Kings, exchanged smiles and laughs in a display of enduring camaraderie.

Dwayne Bravo had two memorable stints with CSK (2011–2015 and 2018–2022) and even served as bowling coach for the franchise in 2023 and 2024. His switch to KKR this season raised eyebrows but did little to dampen the warmth between him and the CSK talisman.
As Bravo now strategizes for CSK’s downfall in purple and gold, Dhoni returns as captain of the Super Kings, stepping in after regular skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad was sidelined with a fractured elbow.
CSK, who have endured a rough patch this season, are banking on Dhoni’s leadership to turn things around. Despite a spirited batting performance in their previous game against Punjab Kings, they fell short by 18 runs chasing 219.
The Chepauk pitch, once a fortress for the five-time champions, has proven tricky this year, offering little home advantage. Head coach Stephen Fleming voiced his frustration after their earlier thumping loss to Royal Challengers Bengaluru, citing unfamiliar pitch behavior.
