January 31, 2025: New Zealand has added fast bowler Jacob Duffy to their squad for the upcoming ODI tri-series against South Africa and Pakistan, which serves as a preparatory tournament for the ICC Champions Trophy. Duffy’s inclusion comes as a cover for Lockie Ferguson, who is currently participating in the ILT20 with Desert Vipers in the UAE.

Duffy, who has played 10 ODIs for New Zealand, brings valuable experience to the team, having taken 18 wickets at an average of 25.94 in the 50-over format. His recent performances have been impressive, including picking up four wickets in two ODIs and eight wickets in three T20Is against Sri Lanka earlier this month.

The tri-series will begin on February 8, with New Zealand facing Pakistan at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium. The opening two matches of the series will be held in Lahore, while the final league match and the final will take place in Karachi. After the tri-series concludes, New Zealand will have a warm-up match against Afghanistan on February 16, ahead of their Champions Trophy opener against Pakistan on February 19.
