July 30, 2025: The greatest fast bowler on the Indian cricket team, Jasprit Bumrah, will not play in the fifth Test against England at The Oval, which starts on Thursday, July 31, 2025. Sources say that the BCCI medical staff took this choice to protect his back and make sure he stays healthy in the long run.

Bumrah has played in the first, third, and fourth Tests of the five-match series. He didn’t play in the second game at Edgbaston. Before the series started, the BCCI said that Bumrah will not play in all five games. Akash Deep will likely take his place. In the second Test, Akash Deep replaced Bumrah and took 10 wickets

But it looks like it’s much more important to pay attention to Bumrah’s work today. In the first innings of the fourth Test, Bumrah bowled 33 overs. This is the most he has ever bowled in a single Test match. He also let up more over 100 runs for the first time (2/103). People also claim that he has gotten a lot slower throughout the course of the series.

In the five-match series, India is one game behind England. The fourth Test in Manchester ended in a thrilling tie after India made an amazing comeback. Shubman Gill, Washington Sundar, and Ravindra Jadeja all hit 100 runs. Bumrah and Mohammed Siraj are still tied for the most wickets taken by an Indian player in the series, at 14 each.
