Champions Trophy: Final Tickets Of India, New Zealand Sold Out
March 8, 2025: The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final between India and New Zealand, scheduled for Sunday at the Dubai International Stadium, has generated immense excitement among cricket fans worldwide. The final match, which promises to be an epic showdown, has sold out all 25,000 tickets for the event. The sales have been a massive success, with ticket prices ranging from AED 250 for general admission to AED 12,000 for the exclusive Sky Box hospitality. This has resulted in an estimated total of AED 9 million in revenue from ticket sales alone.
India has been dominant in the tournament so far, remaining undefeated as they head into the final. Under the leadership of Mitchell Santner, New Zealand has displayed rock-solid performances with both bat and ball, making them a formidable opponent. The match will serve as a rematch of the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy final, which New Zealand won. However, India has the chance to avenge their losses to the Black Caps in the 2019 ICC Cricket World Cup semifinal and the 2021 ICC World Test Championship final.
Unlike other teams in the tournament who have had to travel between Pakistan and Dubai, India has stayed in Dubai due to security reasons. This has sparked some controversy in the cricketing world, with ex-cricketers like Nasser Hussain and Michael Atherton claiming that the scheduling has provided India with an advantage. India's reduced travel time and familiarity with the Dubai conditions have been cited as key factors, as the team has carefully selected its squad with the venue in mind.
New Zealand, despite missing out on the top spot in Group A, is expected to bounce back stronger for the final. Their previous encounter with India saw them fall short, losing by 44 runs. India posted 249 runs in their 50 overs, and New Zealand could only manage 205 runs, getting all out in the 46th over. India's spinners played a crucial role, with Varun Chakaravarthy taking 5/42 – the same figures as Matt Henry, who had been a standout bowler for New Zealand with 5/42.
Kane Williamson's 81 off 120 balls was a valiant effort for New Zealand, but the lack of support from the middle order led to their downfall. India's spinners, led by Chakaravarthy, dominated the match and sealed the victory for the Men in Blue.
As the final approaches, cricket fans are eagerly awaiting what promises to be a thrilling contest between two of the best teams in world cricket. With a sold-out stadium and an electrifying atmosphere expected, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final is sure to be a historic encounter.
