Virat Kohli Applauds RCB Women's Historic Triumph
In a move that has sent the “18-18” (Jersey No. 18) connection viral, Virat Kohli took to social media on February 6, 2026, to celebrate the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) Women’s historic second WPL title.
The victory, achieved on Thursday night at Vadodara’s Kotambi Stadium, marks a “Golden Era” for the franchise. RCB has now achieved the unique distinction of being the first franchise to hold both the IPL and WPL trophies simultaneously, following the men’s team’s maiden IPL title win in 2025.
Almost immediately after the winning runs were hit, Kohli shared a heartfelt post on Instagram addressed to captain Smriti Mandhana and the squad:
“Champions again. Keeping the RCB flag flying high and something that each one of you can be proud of. To Smriti and the whole squad… a big congratulations for this tremendous victory. You guys deserve this undoubtedly. Enjoy the moment and embrace the love of our amazing fans.”
The message holds deep significance for fans, as both Kohli and Mandhana share the iconic Number 18 jersey, often referred to by the Bengaluru faithful as the “Soul of RCB.”
The WPL 2026 final will be remembered as one of the greatest T20 matches in history.
While RCB celebrated, it was a night of unprecedented “final jinx” for the Delhi Capitals.
