Moeen Ali Thanks ‘KKR’ For ‘Showing Trust In Him’ Ahead Of IPL 2025

November 26, 2024: Moeen Ali, the England all-rounder, expressed his excitement and gratitude after being picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) for the 2025 Indian Premier League (IPL) season. Moeen was acquired by KKR at his base price of Rs 2 crore during the IPL 2025 mega-auction, and in a video shared on KKR’s X (formerly Twitter) handle, the 36-year-old thanked the team management for placing their trust in him.

“Hi guys, really excited to be joining KKR. The family, the team, the environment, it’s an amazing place to play, I know. I want to say thank you to Bravo and all the staff for showing trust in me and hopefully, I can perform when I get a chance. And lastly, Ami KKR,” Moeen said in the video, adding his signature enthusiasm for the franchise.

Moeen Ali, known for his versatility with both bat and ball, had a mixed season in IPL 2024, where he played 8 matches and 48 innings. As a bowler, he took just two wickets at an economy rate of 8.88 and an average of 35.50. With the bat, he scored 128 runs at a strike rate of 130.61, contributing solidly in the middle order. Over the course of his IPL career, which spans 67 matches, Moeen has accumulated 1162 runs at a strike rate of 141.53 and has picked up 35 wickets at an economy rate of 7.07, showing his all-round capabilities.

KKR’s management will be hoping that Moeen can bring his experience and skills to the table in the 2025 season, and the all-rounder’s ability to perform both with the bat and the ball could add significant depth to the squad.
