
Mohamed Salah Signs New Deal With Liverpool, Eyes 10-Year Legacy At Anfield
April 11, 2025: In a major boost for Liverpool FC and its global fanbase, star forward Mohamed Salah has signed a new contract with the club, committing his future beyond the 2024-25 season. The Egyptian international, who has been instrumental in Liverpool’s successes over the past eight years, confirmed his decision to extend his stay at Anfield, much to the delight of Reds supporters worldwide.
Salah, currently enjoying another sensational season, has already netted 32 goals in 45 appearances across all competitions, with 27 goals in the Premier League alone, making him the division’s top scorer. He has also contributed 22 assists, underlining his all-round influence on the pitch.
In an official statement, Liverpool FC confirmed:
“The forward, who is enjoying another stellar campaign for the Reds, has committed his future by putting pen to paper on the deal… Today’s news means Salah will extend an eight-year stay at Anfield into the future and continue to help Arne Slot’s team challenge for the game’s biggest honours.”
Salah, speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, expressed his excitement and optimism about what lies ahead:
“Of course, I am very excited. We have a great team now… I signed because I think we have a chance to win other trophies and enjoy my football. It is great, I had my best years here. I played eight years, hopefully, it is going to be 10. Enjoying my life here, enjoying my football. I had the best years in my career.”
He also had a heartfelt message for the fans:
“I would like to say to [the fans], I am very, very happy to be here. I signed here because I believe we can win a lot of big trophies together. Keep supporting us and we will give it our best, and hopefully, in the future, we are going to win more trophies.”
Since joining Liverpool from AS Roma in the summer of 2017, Salah has become a club legend. He currently sits third on the club’s all-time top scorers list with 243 goals in 394 appearances — a remarkable tally that cements his legacy as one of Liverpool’s greatest ever players.
Over his Anfield career, Salah has lifted seven major trophies, including the Premier League, UEFA Champions League, FIFA Club World Cup, UEFA Super Cup, FA Cup, and two League Cups. Individually, he has won the Premier League Golden Boot three times, been named the PFA Players’ Player of the Year twice, and collected two FWA Footballer of the Year awards.
