Neeraj Chopra’s Paris 2024 T-Shirt Inducted into World Athletics Heritage Collection

“India’s javelin star joins 23 global athletes whose artefacts have been added to the prestigious collection, honoring his contribution to athletics.”

New Delhi, December 15: The t-shirt worn by India’s ace javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra during the Paris 2024 Olympics has been added to the prestigious World Athletics Heritage Collection. This honor places Neeraj among 23 elite athletes whose competition artefacts were recently inducted into the collection.

Neeraj, the reigning World Champion and Paris 2024 Olympic silver medallist, continues to leave an indelible mark on the global athletics stage. The announcement was made by World Athletics President Sebastian Coe, who said, “Keeping our Olympic collection up to date, we are proud today to announce donations from a trio of Paris 2024 medallists: Yaroslava Mahuchikh, Thea LaFond, and Neeraj Chopra.”

Other Inducted Athletes

The collection also features contributions from Ukraine’s Yaroslava Mahuchikh, who donated her singlet, name bib, and shorts after breaking the world high jump record at the Paris Diamond League and winning Olympic gold.

Dominica’s first Olympic medallist, Thea LaFond, donated the crop top she wore during her gold-winning triple jump final at Paris 2024. In total, 32 artefacts representing 23 athletes from 12 countries were added to the World Athletics Heritage Collection this week.

Neeraj Chopra’s Unmatched Legacy

Neeraj Chopra continues to elevate Indian athletics. After creating history at the Tokyo Olympics by becoming the first Indian to win an Olympic gold in athletics, he secured silver at Paris 2024 with a throw of 89.45m.

Although Neeraj narrowly missed defending his Olympic crown, losing to arch-rival Arshad Nadeem, who set an Olympic record with a throw of 92.97m, his performance further cemented his place among the world’s top athletes.

Neeraj’s journey recently took an exciting turn with his announcement of a new collaboration with legendary javelin thrower Jan Zelezny. The three-time Olympic champion and world record holder is now Neeraj’s coach, marking the beginning of a new chapter in the Indian star’s career.
