Odisha Juggernauts, Gujarat Giants secure wins: Ultimate Kho Kho
At the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack on Tuesday, the defending champion Odisha Juggernauts and Chennai Quick engaged in an exciting 34-34 draw, while the Gujarat Giants triumphed 34-30 over the Mumbai Khiladis to win the Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2 for the second time in a row. For Odisha Juggernauts, Deepak Sahoo (8) scored the most points. Once again, Ramji Kashyap excelled for Chennai, scoring 8 points on 3 spectacular skydives. According to a UKK press release, he also remained on the mat with Laxman Gawas for more than 5.28 minutes to earn significant dream run bonus points.
In the first inning, the Odisha Juggernauts and Chennai Quick Guns faced off and each scored 16 points, with Chennai adding two dream run bonus points.
Odisha went into attack mode in the third turn, scoring eighteen points. During the turn, Sahoo scored six points for the team. Additionally, the reigning champions refrained from awarding their rival any dream run bonus points. To tie the game, though, Chennai Quick Guns scored 18 points in the fourth turn. With 14 points earlier, Abhinandan Patil was the Gujarat Giants’ star player of the game. Gujarat’s victory was also aided by Shubham Thorat, Suyash Gargate, and Faizankha Pathan, who all stayed on the mat for longer than five minutes.
Rohan Kore (8) of the Mumbai Khiladis scored the most points during the game. Mumbai Khiladis had a good start to the game as they gave Gujarat Giants just 14 points in the first turn and received a dream run bonus point. Gujarat, however, swiftly reversed the trend in turn two and won three dream run bonus points while playing defence. With their outstanding defence, they also gave Mumbai just 8 points, and they continued to gain ground in the second half.
In the third turn, Gujarat Giants scored 14 points, and Mumbai also earned a dream run bonus point. Even though Mumbai scored 20 points in the last turn, it was enough for the Gujarat Giants to win. On Wednesday, the Mumbai Khiladis will take on the reigning champion Odisha Juggernauts, while the Rajasthan Warriors will play Telugu Yoddhas.
