In the ongoing Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2, the defending champion Odisha Juggernauts defeated Mumbai Khiladis 31-28 to get back to winning ways, and Telugu Yoddhas easily defeated Rajasthan Warriors 38-28 at the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium in Cuttack on Wednesday. According to a UKK press release, Telugu Yoddhas has taken second place with a total of six points, while Odisha Juggernauts have now taken the top spot in the points table with eight points from three matches.
Mumbai Khiladis, who were chasing, had a balanced start to the game by not giving the reigning champions any dream run bonus points in the first few minutes of play. But they were only able to score 14 points in the opening turn, as Odisha answered back with 14 points in the next turn. Thanks to a dream run bonus point in the second turn, Mumbai led by one run going into the second inning. In the third turn, they added another 12 points to their tally and gave Odisha another dream run bonus point. The final turn worked out well for the defending champions, who scored 16 points thanks to outstanding attacking to record an incredible victory.
Rahul Mandal, who scored 10 points, earlier proved to be Telugu Yoddhas’ standout player. Aditya Ganpule and Pratik Waikar both helped the team win by remaining on the mat for more than 3.95 minutes in order to score bonus points for dream runs during defence. Early in the first turn, Rajasthan Warriors scored a dream run bonus point. Telugu Yoddhas then fought back fiercely, scoring 18 points while pursuing. When they went to defence, the Yoddhas showed the same tenacity by scoring two dream run bonus points and letting Rajasthan score just twelve.
Telugu Yoddhas scored eighteen points in the third turn to take a commanding lead. They started the second inning strongly. Although Rajasthan scored a dream run bonus point, they were only able to secure 14 points after failing to beat Telugu’s score in the final turn. Gujarat Giants, who are currently atop the table, will face Telugu Yoddhas on Friday, while Rajasthan Warriors will play Chennai Quick Guns.
