Cricketer Addresses the Controversy Over Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan Search History
February 11, 2025: Indian cricketer Riyan Parag has finally broken his silence on the viral controversy surrounding his search history leak, which included explicit searches related to Bollywood actresses Ananya Panday and Sara Ali Khan. The Rajasthan Royals star, who has had a love-hate relationship with social media, recalled how the incident happened and why he chose not to publicly clarify it earlier.

How the Controversy Started
After the conclusion of the IPL 2024 season, Parag found himself in the middle of a social media storm when his search history accidentally surfaced during a live stream. Screenshots of his browser activity quickly went viral, sparking widespread discussions and memes.

Speaking on City1016 Radio, Parag revealed that the incident actually occurred before the IPL but resurfaced after his strong performances in the tournament.

"I finished the IPL, we were in Chennai, finished the match, got on a Discord call with my streaming team, and it got publicised now, but it happened before the IPL. One of the people in my Discord team tried to set me up before the IPL, but that got taken down very quickly. But then after the IPL, the hype was there, and I had a good season. I came and opened my stream, I didn't have Spotify or Apple Music. Everything was deleted," he explained.
Parag’s Reaction: "Oh Sh, This Happened"**
The cricketer admitted that he didn’t realize what had happened until after the live stream ended.
"So I went on YouTube to put on music, and I searched for music. But I didn't know what was happening, but once I did the stream ended, I was like, 'Oh s**t! This happened.' It just got blown out of proportion. I didn't think it was good enough a reason for me to go out publicly and clarify everything, and no one would understand," he added.
Parag’s Growth Beyond the Controversy
Despite the controversy, Parag has continued to evolve as a key player in India’s T20 squad. He reflected on his journey from Assam to international cricket.
"Coming from Assam, I had this dream of playing for India. Really happy. Playing my first match in Zimbabwe will be special," he said.
The search history incident may have been an embarrassing moment, but Parag remains focused on his cricketing future, unfazed by the social media noise surrounding his personal life.
